Chaotic Moon Studios Office

App and software development firm Chaotic Moon Studios has recently moved into a new office space in downtown Austin.

Chaotic Moon Studios, a creative technology company, moved into three hundred-year-old buildings in downtown Austin in the fall of 2013. The former Swift, Day and McKean-Eilers Buildings now house over a hundred people who specialize in app and software development.

Before the renovation, the dark, closed-off spaces bore little resemblance to today’s bright, open-plan office. Much was done to maintain the architectural charm of the structures while integrating Chaotic Moon’s in-your-face attitude. Look around and you’ll see several custom murals from art director Nathan Walker, including one that proclaims “We’re The Best.”

Befitting a company that’s focused on design and user experience, the aesthetic of the office is clean and unencumbered. And reflecting Chaotic Moon’s hacker sensibilities, employees did everything from helping design the space to assembling the furniture.
